Mindful Thoughts Pt. 1

Humans are very impetus beings, meaning we tend to act absent of thought or care sometimes in order to keep a force moving. We are a fast paced society rationalizing present information as quickly as possible! Hence we may feel pressured to respond or come to conclusions swiftly. For these abrupt actions to occur we rely on sub-categories and pre-existing notions that may create unfair initial bias.

Interjecting this process with deep thought isn’t a complete denial of self; rather just lowering the importance of it. We all bring something to the table regardless if it is round, long, or seated with the worlds brightest minds. Our value does not diminish, but we don’t hold it over everyone else's either. Pre-existing notions or expectations might hinder our ability to stay humble. This situation is unique and new, therefore we must accept the constructive criticism to our current ideals. Stepping away from having it all figured out, which turns into an identification process without proper reasoning.

What can define actual thought? Maybe it is the ability to disregard previous consumptions of a person and/or place to analyze only the current. Perhaps the ability to see multiple outcomes or conclusions as opposed to one definite decision. It too could have sub-categories or pre-existing notions, but only if they have been evolved beyond previous thought. For we can use past information to help us assess the present, but it would be ludicrous to consider that we have predicted the future. It is as uncertain as how the current situation should make us feel.

We shouldn’t be able to categorize all matters quickly (perhaps here and there), it will not aid us long term. We hold rights to reject what does not suit us. We also hold the opportunity to dissect what could be beneficial, things that can help us and/or others grow. Mindfulness is the practice of an ongoing student, curious with an intention to stay connected. Connecting through the roots of humanity to become more self-aware and create for the greater good.
